Lincoln/Lancaster County Sallyport & Holding Area Remodel

Lincoln/Lancaster County Sallyport & Holding Area Remodel

Cheever reconfigured the first, second, and third floors of the former county jail.  20 cells were reconfigured and upgraded to act as day holding cells inmates of Lancaster County were waiting to go before the judge.  The addition of a Sallyport in the lower level, a new elevator and stair well provided direct access to this holding area as inmates were transported from the new county jail to this facility.

Matching the exterior precast color, finish and patterns were essential to maintain the esthetics of this prominent downtown building.  Security upgrades included hydraulic doors, cameras, communications, upgraded cell hardware, and passive containment measures.  The new heating and light system are state of the art and improved the facilities efficiently.  The construction team adapted to multiple owner driving changes as the Phase III designs placed changing demands on Phase I.
